The sample program described below, Leaders Face to Face, illustrates one of our most successful options for group training and coaching. During one six-month program, a group of 13 leaders documented more than $2 million of new value that they added to their organization.

Leaders Face to Face equips leaders to build value in their relationships with peers, clients, and strategic alliances. The six-month program includes both classroom instruction and follow-up coaching to assure that new practices become regular habits for creating business success.

FACE is an acronym for the practices of building high-value partnerships:

Future

  • Create urgency by making a powerful case for improving key relationships
  • Create a compelling, shared picture of an ideal future for these relationships
  • Define metrics for current and potential value

Attitudes

  • Shift two attitudes that always decrease value creation
  • Strengthen two attitudes that consistently enhance value creation
  • Influence others' attitudes to increase value

Competence

  • Practice interpersonal skills that improve trust, collaboration and results
  • Stay flexible and effective in challenging situations
  • Identify and recover from relationship breakdowns quickly
  • Find and change organization processes which inhibit success

Evaluation

  • Learn what is most important to others and provide it
  • Improve yourself continuously to assure ever-stronger relationships and results

To qualify as a participant in this program, leaders choose one or two key partnerships they will strengthen, typically creating value from $10,000 - $50,000 during a six-month timeframe. They use these partnerships as their case studies throughout the program. Bi-weekly coaching supports the use of new practices, sustains focus, and keeps leaders on track to produce results.
